Merrickville is a magical place to visit, for a romantic couples getaway, a girls weekend retreat or a fun staycation.

You can relax, chill and enjoy our charming village. An organization called Communities in Bloom dubbed Merrickville Canada's Most Beautiful Village in a 1998 competition. In 2019, the village was a finalist to regain the honour, which recognizes communities for their beautification efforts and green space initiatives.

Just one block from the Suites, you will find the Rideau Canal running through the center of Merrickville, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built in the early 1800s. Explore the Blockhouse museum operated by Parks Canada. You can also watch boats going through the three locks each one hand operated. Have a picnic in the park. This is a great place to watch sunsets. Go for a walk around Merrickville and marvel at the wonderful 18th century architecture.
